Birthday party for wing tonight! it was good! haha..we planned this surprise for her. She returned from sydney today and so we thought of surprising her when she gets home and she really was..haha...i had fun, cuz i have nv planned a surprise birthday thing before... and i made a scrumptiously delightfully whoppingly sinful choc icing cake! it was really sinful...cuz much butter was added to the icing and we used M&Ms to decorate the cake. But it's really worth putting on those pounds eating that! hahaha..To add on to the sin, i made fries! haha..double sin!:X so i neutralised it with dumplings..haha..mayb it won't neutralise but it's rather healthy considering that i cooked a dumpling soup. That was one lip-smackingly good dumpling soup. haha...Wing love it too...
after all the excitement and food, we were all full up to the brim...but totally satisfied.
Got to get back to studies once again. Last one on Tue!
It seems to be getting really dry around here... the symtoms are more apparant on my legs. I just noticed that there are bits of rash on my calf area but they are not irritating me. I remember SX telling me this is a symtom of dryness. I guess i'll just have to quench my legs' thirst with lots of moisturiser everyday. I have also been rather prone to insect bites...i have quite a bit already. So u can imagine what a sight it is, red rashes, mosquito bite looking bump, plus the marks that were still there from the sandfly bites during the trip to sentosa last december.
Seems like there has been a lack of visual enjoyment around here. Will upload more pics when i have installed the software to upload the pics from my camera to the com (rem my com died down on me?haha).

i got electrocuted today! ...haha..my finger actually, to be exact.. haha
was helping Nashmin to fix her light bulb today cuz she had a fused bulb...and i think she has forgotten to turn off the switch..i didn't notice that too and stupidly, i jammed my forefinger into the hole thing where u screw ur light bulb in. Fortunately, the electricity wasn't too great..but it was the first time i felt real electricity..haha..the past few times were just like needle pricks...
but this time, the whole top part of my forefinger can feel it!
The feeling was indescribable..u have to experience it to know it..haha...the aftermath feeling was somewhat like u got ur finger clasp by something tightly..ha..
anyway, i wouldn't want to experience it again..haha
getting back to studies again..nothing much has happened these days...just grueling exams and assignments...hope that exams will be over soon.
I have missed one wk of ft cuz of exams plus i'll be missing it this sun too, i miss the kids also!:(...
another sad thing is that SX will be goin back to sg already..he came here, started everthing that has nv started...and now he has to go back le cuz his company wants him back...just when he has already gotten on v well with tz's sons..so it's left with me an cherry now...lmcb, hope everything will go on as well as before..or even better, improving.

He felt sick, he felt burning sensations. It was too late. He crinkled under the heat and couldn't fly. He felt dreadful. He was hyperventilating, and couldn't utter a sound of help. He stopped moving. His short life would be ending any moment.
There came this kind soul, who saw it since it was foolishly bouncing around the light.
She saw it fell to the ground and knew it instantly that this fly was being silly enough to kill itself unknowingly..
So she decided to give a hand to the poor little dying fly and to restore its breathe in it.
She removed the light. No budging from the fly at all. Moments later, she noticed the little feet of the fly was moving! It was saved! However, that only lasted for an instant and he went dead again. Not moving. 'So much for my help', thought the kind soul.
It was actually struggling to regain it's strength. But no matter how hard it tried, it just couldn't flip himself over. 'i'm tired', thought the little fly and so he decided to lie there till he got all his strength to fly again.

It rained!
at long last..haha..we were so excited about it..nashmin had her clothes hanging....i was downstairs at the living area and wing came out to tell me it is raining...we were all somehwat excited cuz it hasn't rained for sooooooooooo long..haha...so as i was saying, nashmin had her clothes out...i went up to her room to tell her that..i shouted out to her cuz her bedroom door was closed:
Me: Nashmin!!
N(from her room): Yes??
Me: It's raining!!
N: Yes, isn't it so romantic..(*smiles* and totally oblivious to my intent of informing her about the rain)
Me: Your clothes!!!
N: Ohhhhh!!!!
haha...that was when she came out of her room, laughing along the way down to collect her clothes...
i find it really funny..hahaha...she can even tell me it's romantic..haha..
And so, the rain ended in about 15 minutes
But we were contented.

I absolutely looove this song...since i was in sec sch i think....partly cuz we used to play this alot in band...if i can remember, it's always one of the easier pieces we had....v catchy too....
have been pondering on the lyrics in the recent years, the song speaks about the good old days....have always hear ppl talking about the good old days...everyone is sure to have their "good old days"...and people likes to reminisce theirs once in a while to relive the moments...the moments sometimes are not very fantastic ones...it can also be like the secondary sch days when everyone is stressing over O levels...i'm sure no one likes it there n then when u were at that time..but now, it seems that it has became one of the chapters of our good old days...all thoses rushing projects and exams while goofing around with friends...all of us were so young then...
Every moment we are living till right now, will create a memory in the future..it has to be ourself, choosing what kind of story we want in our own book...
we have started filling up our book since we arrived on this tiny little planet, writing each and every of the tiny events in our life. We can never end the book until we depart. There is no ending full stop yet. And there is definitely no rewriting.
There is a phrase that goes: "live life to the fullest". The phrase is always so common that people do not think much about it. But it actually has alot of meaning to it: Live the moment that you will not regret. Live every moment that you will be proud to say 'Yes, I did that'. I hope that i can close up my book with a smile of satisfaction on my face, with a book that i can be proud of.

Called the technicians just now in the morning...he said smth like the hard disk will be here soon and he'll call me the latest by tmr. It has been a week already.
anyway, din do much last weekend. went grocery shopping on saturday morning to buy food for 2 weeks cuz i'm going to stay either at home or the library for these 2 weeks. exams and essays due!! haha..so i dun intend to waste time goin out to buy stuff..
After goin to the market with wing(my housemate), we went sunnybank after that. It's a place where they sell lots of chi food and also chi grocery stall. It's quite good, even better than chinatown..haha..and i saw quite a lot of vegetarian stuff there too.. quite excited..haha..like the nuggets, fishballs and some others which i have forgotten already..but i didn't buy it anyway..haha..and i was rather surprised too to find vegetarian meat in the major supermarkets around. There's one near my house...but most of them contain garlin n onion i think.
Oh and we drank bubbletea there too! haha
went home at around 4 plus cuz the shops are all closing soon. oh and we bought a box of doughnuts at only $1.50! haha there were 6 in it and they were SUPER NICE! haha choc doghnuts with choc flakes on top. Really good!
Cooked fried rice when i got back home and nth exciting after that. haha
On Sunday, went ft as usual...the kids were ever so cute..haha..always enjoyed my time there every week teaching and playing with them.:)
went straight home after that. didn't go to my granduncle's place cuz i have to work on my essays and exam. It's getting nearer n nearer!! And i'm still stuck at one of my immunology essays. It's mind boggling but interesting too. However, i don't have too much time to ponder more on the essays.
just finished my lunch and feeling sleepy..ha...will go home late again tonight i guess...will take the 8:50 pm safety bus home. The safety bus is a facility catered to female uni students here. It'll run after 6pm and it brings you back home to your doorstep so basically, it's like taking a taxi, except that it's free..haha..ok, mayb nt free..mayb it's included in the sch fees..haha..anyway, i should make full use of the uni's facilities! haha..so i dun have to walk home in the dark...it's actually quite scary here at night cuz the road lamps are not as many as the roads we have in sg...so it's quite dark, eerie and v little ppl walk around at night.

Laptop sent for servicing..the guy says it's the hard drive prob...hope he can recover the stuff in it. Anyway, i went shopping in the city after sending it for servicing..haha..
bought some groceries and also sports shoes! ha..quite happy to be able to get a fitting sports shoe cuz i cant find any in singapore that fits my feet! haha..the biggest they have for womens is size 8 or 8 and half i think and i only have another choice which is to buy the mens but they're always so ugly..haha:p...plus the mens shoes are too broad for my foot. So i got a size 10 ladies sports shoes here! haha..was quite happy to be able to get a size.
Thinking of joining the canoe club here..long time since i last canoe..ha..probably join after the exams but i'll see about it then cuz it's almost winter already and i'm afraid it'll be v cold.
Waiting for the fujitsu ppl to call me so i can go down and get my laptop. Days are boring without com but it is also good in some ways too. Anyway, i rather have a com..haha..
Waiting for lunchtime now..haha..will be going either subway or 'mi sushi' near my place with my housemate. We seldom eat out here..after my mum went back, i can actually count how many times i have eaten out..haha..i think only 2 times if my memory is not failing on me...haha..so today will be the third time..lol..the same goes for all of my friends too..i think it's b'cuz the food here is expensive and it'll b way cheaper if we were to cook n bring our own. one meal will cost around 7 aus dollar and plus a drink, it'll top up to 10 bucks already. so it's not worth it. ha..
going to sunnybank tmr..it's a place where they sell lots of chi food and the area is practically dominated by taiwanese..haha..there're even more chinese and chinese stuff there than in chinatown..so my housemate and i will be going there tmr and see if we can find some chi food to buy back. I want to buy vitasoy! ha..i missed it alot...and i saw it the other day at chinatown and the 6-pack normal ones cost 3.70 aud which is 4 plus sgd i think..ha..it's double the price in sg. But i think i'll buy when i go sunnybank tmr.. i suddenly miss the mee rebus near my house! haha..omg..
the holidays is ending but i still have got loads to do! must be more hardworking already! hahaha

din update for a few days! ha..cuz my com is down...it just turned off suddenly and restarted. and it showed a screen saying 'operating system not found'...i was like !!!...haha...cuz i thought OS is supposed to be in there all the time...and i tried to fix it but i think the documents has to be wiped out so i called the fujitsu here and they took down everything and said they'll call me back today...i hope they'll call...so here i am in the sch lib blogging..ha
sunday i went ft in the morning and after that, i went to my granduncle's sister's house for easter...ha..the ppl here have family gatherings for easter...so my granduncle asked me along also..at first i thought it might be strange but there were v nice ppl there plus there were also alot singaporean students...ha...i dunno y they're there too..but nice talking to them..
Oh and i saw the bookshop at the shopping centre that says harry potter and the deathly hallows can be pre ordered! hahaha...so happy! cuz they told me that i have to queue up here to get a book, unlike in singapore where u can just walk into popular and grab one. I'm going to pre order it this week!! so exciting! haha..

went over to granduncle's place today for the whole day!
there are two magpies that go to his place every evening at around 5pm to get food..haha..so my grandaunt always prepared some food for the two of them... i got to feed them too!! haha:
this pic was the best one i took cuz it's too fast for me..haha..but it's interesting that it'll come right up to my hand to pick it...the other one is more timid...it'll wait somewhere far for us to throw it to him..ha...oh and i saw like this whole group of cockatoos(parrots) flying together and stopping by at the house beside my uncle's house...it's funny cuz i have never seen a group of parrots flying in the wild before...in sg, i only saw it in pet shops chained to a metal rod..haha...
these are just a few of them on the roof...there are more of them on the tree beside the house..i think there were altogether 20 of them flying around..haha..
As tmr's easter, ppl are shopping for chocs today cuz during easter, they give each other chocs, more of choc egg or easter bunny choc...there are sales everywhere on choc easter egg n bunny..they look quite nice..haha...i might buy one bunny to try!:P so my grandaunt, uncle n i went to the shopping mall together cuz they're going to their relative place tmr and they need to get some choc... and although with much rejecting from me, they still got me a choc too...haha...
it's not easter egg or bunny but it's a diff toblerone from the ones we have in sg...there're diff flavors in it..notice the box was designed for easter! it's not egg shaped inside..i think it's like normal toblerone shape..cant wait to try it but not today...i think i ate too much during dinner...like 1 cup of rice lo...haha..and alot of fruits..feeling so bloated right now...ha.oh and they got me an interesting cheese too...i shouldn't go supermarket with them..when i show interest in some things, they'll want to buy for me...i feel bad that they're always buying things for me..and they wun let me pay even though i insist on it...anyway, here's the cheese..i think it looks like choc:

oh and there's a device thing which they issue to all customers...it's something like a paging thing and when u fin with ur orders, they'll give u this device and u can wait at ur seat. When the food is ready, the device will make a sound..haha..like a pager and u can go collect ur food..haha...

sooo..after that, we dun really have anywhere to go cuz it's gd friday today so all the shopping malls are closed! haha...so we went home at 3 plus..haha...so we just took the citycat back home...the citycat is something like a ferry...quite exciting..haha..it's actually a normal public transport here...

Haha..i'm so proud of myself..i managed to edit some stuff for my blog!! haha..althought it's considered simple stuff but still, i did it! haha....
tmr's the start of holidays! yay! haha..will be going to watch Mr Bean with my friends...
oh and i went to the supermarket today, supposedly to just buy bread and eggs..and i walked past the biscuit section and couldn't stop myself from taking the love potions chocolate mud flavored tim tam! haha...i got a whole series of tim tam now! haha..look!:

oh i was telling sabrina the other day that i have this friend who looks alot like mavis!! hahaha... well, not really alot but somewhat similar..haha..she looked more pretty and she's definitely nicer than mavis..haha.. and i took a photo with her today..haha..she was curious about my phone's front camera so she wanted to take a pic.haha.:
She was making some funny faces..haha...anyway, she's from korea! ha...and i think she's doing her masters now...
oh..and during my bioinformatics class at the com lab today, my friends and i was talking to this guy who's abit wierd..haha..he keeps talking to the tutor the irrelavant stuff..haha... and so my friend just talked to him and i sort of joined in..i cant really remember the conversion exactly but it was something like this, i just remembered halfway thru:
wierd guy: do i look gay to u
friend: no..of course
i think the conversation went to other topics for a while so i just ignored them and did my work..wen suddenly i heard:
wierd guy: i'm a homosexual
friend: haha..u're kidding right
wierd guy: no i'm serious.
when we heard this, both my korean friend above n i turned around to look at him..haha
korean friend: are u serious?
wierd guy: yes (with a serious face), is there anything wrong with being gay?
i cant really remember what exactly was said next..haha..but my korean friend kept having that unbelievable face...haha..our conversation was stopped by our tutor who told us to stop talking..haha..like pri sch..haha
i think my friend continued to talk secretly to him cuz she told me after class that the guy's parents know that he's gay..haha..mayb it's a common thing around here...cuz i think there's one place in the uni where u can goto learn more about transgender, homosexuals etc.. haha..they even have some gay magazine outside of the school's canteen sort of place, a whole stack for ppl to take..haha..so i think they're really open about it here...ha~

i handed in my cell bio essay today!! ha...another load off my shoulders..i can concentrate on other things now..oh and i was almost late or should i say already late when i handed in my essay today(10% of total marks deducted for late submission). i took so long with the stupid referencing part that when i went to print it out, it was already 4pm sharp (4pm was the deadline) so i dashed to the building to submit it. It's a kind of machine where it scans the barcode of ur assignment and it'll print a receipt out for u to keep. So i just slot the assignment in and waited for the receipt to print out and see how late i was cuz i'm quite positive that i'm late. And so to my pleasant suprise, it says 3:53pm!! haha..so happy..i was grinning when i saw the receipt..haha!
Sooo i'll eat timtams today since i'm so happy..haha
oh and i cooked a yummylicious fried rice today!! haha..it was a little sinful though cuz i added quite a bit of oil...on second thoughts, i think i'm not going to eat timtams afterall..haha..o well...anyway, as i was saying, this fried rice, it tasted really great! ha...i added potato cubes in to deep fry first..and it tasted like fries...haha..carrots next, follwed by beans, rice and lastly tomatoes..of course i added abit of salt so that it'll taste good. and there u go, the best fried rice i've cooked:

oh and i tried a straw that i bought the other day, it's a flavored straw, meaning normal milk goes in, choc milk comes out..haha it's not especially nice but it's interesting:

and i'm beginning to be like a typical 'aunty'..haha..so does my housemate..we were always so excited to go to the supermarket to buy food, looking at the magazines for the different supermarkets to see who is selling cheaper food, plus we were also excited when we went to a wet market called west end market last weekend to buy cheap vegetables..haha...soooo very like 'aunty' right..hahaha...went chinatown too and got some dumplings (jiao zi) so i have one more thing to add on to my cooking list haha
i'm eating an apple at chinatown after a meal..haha..

i think i have an idea what's the whole template prob about..it's the new blogger thing which i have absolutely no clue what is it about....haha
i'll be using this tempate for some time till i have the time to figure out how i get about to change it...
Still working on my cell bio essay right now..haha..due date is 3rd april 2pm...
after this, there are two more immunology essay to go...and to make it worse, they're due on the week that i'm having my mid term tests!!
so somehow or other, i have to get it done during the easter holidays..everyone in my house will be going somewhere far for holidaying n i'll be staying home mugging...haha...but there'll also be two of them staying home...it'll be a quiet n peaceful house during the easter break...haha.. (we decided to have a party!!hahaha)
running out of ideas on what to cook lately..haha...it's always pasta or rice or bread...and mayb noodles sometimes (not instant noodles hor..ha)..i had an attempt at making curry...it was great! with that curry leaves from grandaunt which made it tastier... however, it's tooo much of a hassle to cook n wash so i decided not to do it till i have some free time....ha...so i'm just cooking the simple stuff like egg, rice, vege, pasta....my fav is pasta now..haha..using fusili.... i think i'll master it when i go back..haha..cuz i've been cooking it for many times now..haha( i'm having it later for dinner!)
it's getting cold n dry recently...i haven seen any downpour since i came....not even a decent drizzle..haha...i can even say that it just watered or smth like that...it was like drizzling for a few minutes and it stopped..haha
and the daytime is getting shorter..i dun like it....i got a feeling i won't like winter...i heard it makes ppl more depressed here and the suicide rate is higher during autum and winter..haha...
but i would really like to have a good storm around here..provided that i'm at home...haha..
i think i'm just babbling whatever i can think of cuz i just sort of woke up from a nap and still abit drowsy..haha..
i'll get back to my work now~~
